The artist community can sigh in relief as Arts and Culture Minister Govind Gaude assured to fix the ACs in the art centre so that performances can begin. After inspecting the premises in Baina, Gause apologised to the artist community and said, “I’ve given direction to the PWD officers to draw an estimate for the AC and the performance space to be started. The rest will be taken in the second phase.”
He added that he will also direct all Government departments to clear Ravindra Bhavan premises once it becomes fully functional.
On using Ravindra Bhavans to screen films, Gaude opined, “We shouldn’t use the Ravindra Bhavan for presenting films. There is an issue in the South as films require 5.1 Dolby sound, whereas our inbuilt sound is favourable for any tiatr, musical program, etc. The maintenance cost of surround sound is expensive. You can show the films but the required sound quality for films, you may not get it.”
