WE HAVE CANCELLED THE BETUL PORT: Chief Minister
MARGAO: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant launched a virulent attack on what he called forces which were trying to throw spanner in the wheels of his government. He said since next Assembly elections are coming close people are trying to create issues.
Speaking after inaugurating work of cleaning and desilting of 60-km-long Salaulim Irrigation project canal under MGNREGA scheme at Cotamol, Cuncolim, Dr Sawant declared that the proposed port at Betul has been cancelled. Sawant said the national Highway may come up in next 20 years but the government is planning now.
He alleged that there were certain people sitting in London and opposing projects in the State. If Tanmar Power lines were not brought in Goa then our power needs and those of industries will not be met, he cautioned.
