WILL TAKE UP SMART CITY WORKS ON PRIORITY: BABUSH MONSERRATE
PANAJI: Panaji MLA Atanasio alias Babush Monserrate on Thursday said that the Smart City works will be taken up in the capital city on priority.
Monserrate was speaking after a meeting of board of directors of Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) held in the city and which reviewed all the ongoing projects.
Monserrate said he has accorded priority to complete works like cleaning of St Inez Creek, Ribandar works, underground cabling and beautification of Miramar and Dona Paula areas. These works has nothing to do with the ensuing election of Corporation of City of Panaji (CCLP) scheduled in March 2021.
To a question, he was still waiting for a nod from the Chief Minister about the setting up of a Health Centre at Ribandar.
He also expressed confidence that the BJP-backed panel would win all 30 seats at the CCP elections.
The Panaji MLA said movement of traffic in the city vis-a-vis casinos will be streamlined within a week. He warned that vehicles parked in no parking areas and in haphazard manner would be towed away by the traffic police.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant who also attended the meeting said that he has asked the chairman and CEO of Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) to give top priority to the works listed by the Panaji MLA.
