Asserting that the initiative  of various companies  to extend their cooperation to the Government for upgradation of skill in the state in the long run will help to boost technical education in the State, the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said the Central Government under Skill India programne have implemented  three PMKY schemes and set a objective of  to skill about 40 crores  people in the country. 
The Chief Minister was speaking at a function organized by The Directorate of Technical Education to commemorate World Youth Skill Day 2021 at Porvorim today.
Chief Minister appreciated the endeavour by Shri Subhash  Shirodkar through his engineering College  to promote technical education in the State. He appreciated  the Department of Technical Education for arranging this programme within a short span of time. 
The step to start Robotic and Codding education in Goa has a vision of future due  to which we are previledged to be the first State in the country. There is need  of skilled manpower and the Government through its various institutions  have started upgradation of skill. The Government declared DG gift scheme for the rural students  belonging to economic back  grounds. We have done provision for skill development in the state  and take ahead skill India mission said Dr Sawant.
             Chairman of Indian Councill of Technical Education Shri Anil Sahastrabuddhe  in his key note address   appreciated the initiative of the Government under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister Dr Pramod towards the promotion of technical education in the State. He said with regards to skill development, South Korea is ahead whose 90% percent population is skilled. We need awareness about technical education in the society. Our educational institutions have an important role to play. The Central Government have created  Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship with an aim to make our youth skilked. Skill is must for sectors of mechanical, aeronautical, pharmaceutical etc. We have to undertake innovative measures to enhance technical  education, for which provision  of  100 crores have been made in budget by the Goa Goverment which will yield good result in the years ahead, he reiterated.
     Shri Subhash Shirodkar MLA and Chairman of Raireshwar College of Engineering Shiroda  addressing said the endeavour of the Goverment is to provide impetus and promote  technical education, to open the window of technical education for all students  in Goa. 
         He said  he is aiming to  ensure that technical education reach rural areas and added ways are explored in this direction.  There are  brilliant students  right from Pernem to Canacona and Sanguem to Sattari are in search of opportunity to avail technical education.Technical education have importance without which development is not possible he added.
       Letters of appointments in different  companies  from the sector of Pharmaceuticals, Ship Building, Mechanical etc. were handed  over to students  from various Engineering Colleges of Goa. 
   Under Chief Minister apprenticeship Scheme programme MOUs were exchanged between 12 reputed firms  on the ocassion.
Five best ITI instructors  awards  in different  deciplines were also presented. The recipient of awards were shri Narayan Salgaonkar in Electrician trade,  Shri Vinod Satkalkar in Fitter trade, Ms Lerna Parab in Computer operation, Shri Shambhurao Harmalkar in Stenography  and Secretarial Practice and in Electrician trade Shri Premanand Naik.
       Director of Technical Education Shri Vivek Kamat, Director Dept. of Skill Development Shri Dipak Desai,HR Manager GSL Shri Manoranjan Khuntiya  HRs from various  companies, HODs from various Engineering Colleges  and others attended the function.
        Shri Govind Bhagat and Ms Pallavi  Samant jointly compered the function while Shri Narayan Navti, MD GHRDC proposed the vote of thanks.
